Synthesis and investigation of a hexyl substituted thieno-fused BODIPY derivative as a versatile near-IR fluorophore

چکیده

The synthesis, photophysical and electrochemical properties of hexyl thiophene substituted thieno[b]-fused BODIPY structure are reported within this work. One such derivative, HTFBod, has been studied, which is one the rare compounds that a maximum absorbance wavelength greater than 750 nm among fused compounds. In addition, it preserves its significant spectral as high molar absorptivity fluorescence quantum yield. Electrochemical characterizations indicated compound could be successful candidate for an organic solar cell donor due to low band gap, known improve short-circuit current (Jsc) values. also harvest near-IR portion irradiance where photon flux exists. LUMO value -4.13 eV contributes air stability. Hexyl substituents provide solubility required in solution-processable photovoltaics further bathochromic shift when compared similar Next, synthesis was accomplished five steps with higher yields literature. Heavy atom-free singlet oxygen production analysis performed while shown cannot produce oxygen, property acquired via halogen substitution.
